About DogHarnessReviews
DogHarnessReviews is an independent review site. Certified dog trainer who spent 8 years working with reactive and pulling dogs at a shelter, now runs his own training business. Has fitted 3,000+ dogs with harnesses and keeps a shelf of 30+ harnesses he's tested to destruction: washed 100 times, yanked on leashes, and worn by his own two German shepherds. He measures strap width, buckle metal, and how long the padding stays put.
Who's Behind This
Tomás, based in Portland, Oregon, has been testing dog harnesses for years. Every review on this site comes from hands-on time with the actual product — not spec sheets.
How We Test
- ✅ No sponsored reviews. We never accept payment for placements.
- ✅ Honest comparisons. If a product isn't good, we'll tell you.
- ✅ Transparent methodology. We explain exactly how we test and rate.
- ✅ Affiliate disclosure. Some links earn us a commission at no cost to you.
What We Believe
- A harness is a training tool, not a fashion accessory. If it doesn't stop pulling, it's a fancy collar.
- Front-clip or nothing for pullers. A back-clip harness on a 70-pound dog that pulls is a sled dog setup.
- Buckle quality is the entire product. I've seen a plastic buckle explode on a leash-pop.
- Fit is 80% of the outcome. The best harness in the world fails on a dog it doesn't fit.
